Side Passing

To work on helping kids pass balls that come to the side, have a coach or partner toss to a players side.  The passer then needs to side back and to the side of the ball while dropping the inside shoulder.  By dropping the inside shoulder, the passing platform angle changes in a way that direct the ball correctly to the target.  For this drill, work one side.  Then work the other side.  Then mix it up to have the players watch and read to see which side the ball is going to go to.

Every player has a ball.  Work on general ball control.  Show how players need to use their legs and not just their arms to pass the ball straight up to themselves.
